Collaborations so far... |
George Miller and the production crew of Mad Max (arguably one of Australia's most iconic films) ran out of money to finish their film. To make ends meet, Miller offered to pay ambulance drives, a tractor driver and several of the bikers on set with slabs of beer. Whilst we do not condone payment in alcoholic beverages, we do understand that the path to a career within the creative industry is paved on the back of a lot of unpaid work. Resources are much more readily available for Australian film practitioners than they were back when Miller was making Mad Max, however a majority of the work goes unrecognised.
We are a group of emerging artists and media practitioners who realised that it is impossible to break into the film industry without the work of a dedicated team. Sadly, the lifestyle of somebody who pursues their art as a career is one of no guarantees and limited resources. Without the help of volunteers, art and independent film wouldn't exist in Australia. Because of this, it is a firm belief held by us here at Nine Tales that it is our responsibility to help promote the work of our fellow artists. If you have an idea or an ambition to work on a project, contact us. We are all about showcasing the work of our fellow creatives! |
